Sophia Wallace is photographer and visual artist based in New York City. Wallace’s work has received critical photo industry acclaim, recognized two years in row by American Photography. Her series ‘Truer, an autobiographical love story’, was selected as a winner by ARTslant and Nymphoto. With recent exhibitions at the Leslie Lohman Gallery, Sasha Wolf gallery and a show upcoming at the Carnegie Museum of Art, Wallace’s work can be seen in a variety of galleries and photography venues. In addition to her fine art practice, Wallace shoots editorially for the New York Times, Time Out Magazine and The Guardian among others.
Wallace holds a B.A. in Government from Smith College, and later received her Master’s Degree in Photography, graduating with honors from New York University and the International Center of Photography. Born in Seattle in 1978, Wallace has lived on three continents. She currently resides in Queens, New York.
